TTHE CROWNING: MISS BLACK GENEZ
R.A.R.E (Rhythm and Rhyme Edutainment) Genius is a sole proprietorship creative arts collective that was founded and serving the community since 1999 by Jeff and Jenavia Weaver.
Vision
"We must re-establish the beauty and attractiveness of the Black female image and genotype, globally." Hence, Miss Black Genes spelled with a “z” to keep it fun!Mission: To elevate, codify and establish the undisputed beauty of Black women, globally, from an African centered natural genetic spawn (hair, skin, shape, rhythm, culture) standard for the purpose of: 1) off setting the negative images in the media that depict Black women in an unattractive manner; and, also, for developing the positive self esteem of Black children around the world.
The passion. The drive. Why we do what we do

Political theorists, ideologues and activists, though valuable assets to society / community, often fail to consider or factor in the x factor of culture when assessing and developing strategies for collective progress. The ideology of Pan Africanism is a brilliant conceptual solution to colonialism and the continuation of the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade. However, a fundamental flaw in its execution is the prominent inclusion of Black women at the forefront. Just as sperm venture outside of the habitat to compete and conquer new territory, men tend to focus on the acquisition and maintenance of power.

To the contrary, women like ovum tend to focus on the immediate premise and surroundings, maintaining, nurturing, developing and cultivating (providing culture for) life.

We are launching the Miss Black Genez – The Crowning, in attempt to reconnect the daughters of Africa, who were scattered throughout the world by way of colonialism and the slavery, in a cultural extravaganza where they will be celebrated by natural Black African beauty standards. White supremacy sets the standard of beauty everywhere Black people are in the world. Hair weaves, skin bleaching cream, pencil thin body images, etc.

This is effective, because of the isolation and disconnection of Black people throughout the African diaspora. Black people will continue to be oppressed, until we love and respect Black people to the point where we no longer allow whites or others to disrespect us. That won't happen until Black women, the shapers of culture, identity and social moray, see themselves as beautiful queens who provide for their subjects, and see all Black women as their sisters!

Why Blue Jeans?
The Crowning will have a very unique thread that runs consistently through out The Crowning – Blue Jeans! Why blue jeans? Besides the fact that Black women "rock jeans" better than any other group of women on the face of the earth, Black women, also, own more pair of jeans than any other demographic. However, the purchasing power of Black people just like in all other industries, is taken for granted. Additionally, jeans are a "mainstay" for women / people around the world. Most everyone has a pair of jeans. But in the US Black people are responsible for the wealth generated by all jeans companies, from the cotton we picked without restitution and compensation. What would happen if the biggest consumers of blue jeans boycotted designer jeans? Hair products? Just let that marinate for a bit.

The Crowning Categories
Black womanhood is multi-dimensional, multi-faceted, broad and bountiful!

THE WALK - Each young women displays The Walk that imbues the grace and greatness that is passed to them from centuries of our tradition from our African ancestors.  It’s the tradition of walking with INTENTION NOT FOR ATTENTION.

THE TALENT CATEGORY - Black women are extraordinarily talented.  Each woman is required to display a talent or issue in which they are passionate.

THE KNOWLEDGE CATEGORY-  Black women have been historically impactful. Each of the young women have to do a presentation on a historical Black Woman of power whom they most admire and/or a critical issue in our community.

THE GROUP DANCE - Black women are kinetically gifted to dance. These young women have also developed their own Black woman’s empowerment line dance to the songs – “Lengendary”, “I Don’t Apologize” and “Five- fifths No Compromise”.  This song, much like an anthem of sorts, espouses the need for Black women to be unapologetic about their natural beauty and grace.

THE BUSINESS PLAN - Black women have been Economic stabilizer of our communities. Thus,  each of the young women were required to write a business plan, to be delivered and supported in a two (2) minute “elevator speech” at the event.

ESSENCE – This categoy is focused on whom may embody the quintasential Black Women’s presence, expression, image and the Ase.  The Ase is the power of speech is the maturity of spirit to accept responsibiltiy of articulating at the highest level the words that you know – for sure – that will manifest into reality  .… and lastly there is nothing to compare to The Powerful and Spirited Walk of Black women.
